Audio Measuring Instruments

Audio measuring instruments provide the ability to analyse sound in various ways. Connecting a microphone to the audio analyser provides a visual representation of what you hear. This allows you to set up your system/installation to get optimum sound by analysing the response of a hall or venue identifying dead spots, feedback etc. Suitable compensation can then be made to your system by adjusting speaker position, applying equalisation etc.

The analysers may also be connected to a line output from your system or to the speaker output from the amplifier in order to monitor the equipment performance. The analysers include a pink noise generator which can be connected into the sound system. The pink noise provides an evenly distributed sound which enables the performace of the hall to be effectively monitored on the analyser. More detailed monitoring is also possible by connecting an oscilloscope to the analyser.
